Accessibility at the Core

Accessibility isn't an afterthought in Herdles - it shapes every design decision. Here's what's in the game today, and what's on the roadmap.

Available Now

Accessibility features already in the game.

  • Low-pressure adventure: no death, no combat, no harsh fail states, and no punishment for taking your time.
  • Deep control customization: bind option toggles, rebind controls, adjust camera sensitivity and deadzones, invert camera axes, and choose sprinting behavior.
  • Movement assistance: platform snapping, ledge guard, jump-height assists, follow-camera options and more.
  • Gameplay guidance: compass, additonal gameplay indicators, dialog auto-play, and an always-visible collectible counter.
  • Visual comfort: high-contrast mode, brightness, contrast, saturation and FOV options.
  • Visibility tools: player and Herdle drop shadows, player and Herdle trails, and customizable reticle visibility, size, shape, and transparency.
  • Audio control: separate sliders for master, music, ambience, and effects volume.

  • More visual accessibility: colourblind-friendly modes, customizable high contrast, greyscale/desaturation, reduced visual noise, camera-shake controls, and motion-blur options.

  • Expanded input options: one-handed controls, stick swapping, toggle/hold actions, vibration settings, eye-tracking, and alternative controller setups.
